Korea’s First Electronic Display Board Production (Daishin Securities Head Office)

Electronic Securities Display Board Production at Daishin Securities Headquarter By Using a Computer for The First Time in 1979

Securities display board in the sales office at Daishin securities headquarter is the first display board for Korean securities business circles. Previously, employees recorded stock price in chalk on a blackboard. The Korea Stock Exchange made an official announcement through the speakers that were connected to every branch in a certain period of time. Once notified, the individual employee modified stock price manually and investors made a request while keeping an eye on the price. The introduction of securities display board was pretty much innovative method when everything is manually operated. After adoption of display board at Daishin securities, other securities firms as well installed it. According to the related industry, the trading volume had so much increased, which resulted in activating stock market.
