2021 DMZ Art & Peace Platform Artist Introduction: Lee Ye-seung
The Dorasan Station media facade, produced by Lee Ye-seung's design plan, is divided into five sections on ceilings and walls, making different waves, but it is produced in a form that flows in one direction.
This structure implies the win-win appearance of the South and the North, which have historically and politically changed and made differences, and the complementary relationship between them.
In addition, although it flows in one direction as a whole, it is produced in the form of an abandoned work that cannot distinguish between beginning and end, top and bottom within the screen, so it is not a biased appearance in one direction, but a constantly changing expression of diversity, which does not result in a biased perspective between South and North Korea, but rather a desire to create a landscape in the process of respecting and caring for each other's differences.
The work of the video (the blazing landscape - when we call ourselves) is a project that hopes to become "one" in which "one people, each other," which is divided into two countries as of 2021, can one day call each other "we."
Focusing on the symbolic meaning of Dorasan Station where the work will be installed, the artist is now the last train station in South Korea, but it is also the starting point to connect all stations in Pyongyang and Eurasia in the future.
The author connects the possibilities of Dorasan Station to the same context as a new starting point for harmony between the South and the North, and hopes to enjoy absolute freedom by overcoming the tension and chaos involved in the complex and complex political and geographical relationship between the South and the North.
